Back At Home
Britene and Raven got to go home on
Friday, the 22nd, despite the fact that Raven had become a little jaundiced. The
trip home was uneventful. Home-health care arrived about 1 hour later to
install the UV blanket Raven has to wear until the jaundice is better.
This means holding her is a little difficult and confined to one area of
the house. The "billyrubin" levels as a result were a little
high, which makes her sleep more. So, for Britene's first few days at
home with a new baby, Raven slept more than she was awake. Ahhh, the
peace.
These pictures won't change too much, so
remember to look at the Photo Gallery page for
the recent updates.

Glenn putting her back into the bassinet the day they brought her
home. |

Please note the date. THREE days after delivering Raven, and Britene
is not only up and moving at full speed, she also doesn't look like she
just had a baby.
As a woman, I think I am offended. = ) |
 |
Raven spends a lot of time sleeping, so Mom and Dad just hold her to
get their fix. She looks so sweet and angelic now, doesn't she? Almost
too good to be true. |
 |
Fluids are very important to bring down her billyrubin levels, but
keeping her interested has proven interesting. She is just too calm and
quiet. |
 |
Rooting around in the bassinet, she appears to be looking for
something. I wonder what it is that she is seeking?? =) |
 |
This afghan was knitted by a wonderful woman that Alice knows. While
Raven might not know the difference yet, Britene and I do and it is
wonderful and soft and so precious. |
 |
Although it has been 11 days, she is
still spending nap time and bed time in the UV blanket. Only a couple
more days of this though.
A note here to the
Great-GrandMothers
and Great-GrandFathers -- they are keeping the apartment VERY warm and
making sure Raven is tucked into a blanket at all times. Any exposure
you are seeing is a result of my taking the blankets OFF so I can
snap a few pictures. |

Getting rewrapped for nap time. Now that
she isn't all balled up all the time, you can really see her length. Mom
has her dressed in socks to help keep her warm. Once the
"rig" is stable, Britene puts a nice warm blanket over her and
tucks her in. |
